Residents in Woodhouse Park will benefit from new equipment for community events following a donation from infrastructure company Avove.
The company has donated two large gazebos, two heavy-duty picnic tables, two wooden picnic benches and a selection of outdoor games and activities to the Woodhouse Park Estate Residents Association.
The equipment will be used to support Community Day celebrations and other activities, providing practical resources that local people can enjoy for years to come.
Strelley to Redhill Scheme
The donation was made as part of Avove's Strelley to Redhill scheme with Severn Trent. Throughout the project, the team worked closely with residents and the Residents Association, identifying ways to leave a positive and lasting benefit for the community once construction work had been completed.
Representatives from Avove and Severn Trent recently met with members of the Residents Association to hand over the equipment, which had been kept as a surprise until the day of the presentation. Local Councillor Kalsi also attended the event and welcomed the contribution.
Social Value
The donation reflects Avove's commitment to creating positive social value alongside the infrastructure projects it delivers. By working with local communities to understand their needs, the company aims to identify practical initiatives that can continue making a difference long after construction activities have finished.
Sarah Miles, Customer Experience Advisor at Avove, said:
We are incredibly grateful for the support and understanding shown by residents throughout the Strelley to Redhill project. Working closely with the Residents Association helped us identify something that would have a genuine and lasting benefit for local people.
She added:
Community events play an important role in bringing people together and we hope this equipment will support activities and celebrations for many years to come.
The new equipment is expected to be used at a range of community events throughout the year, helping residents come together and supporting activities organised by the Woodhouse Park Estate Residents Association for years to come.
